Easter Seals Wisconsin (ESW) has a FARM program since 1991, where equipment is often given to clients through the recommendation of its specialists and paid for by a separate funding source. This assistive technology and farming equipment makes their daily tasks more manageable despite their disabilities.
There are times in the unforeseeable future when the equipment is no longer needed; reasons include the inability to keep farming, or death, or change in farm focus. For whatever reason, there are times when the farmer no longer needs the equipment. Knowing it was given to them encourages them to want to gift it on. The Agricultural Equipment Exchange (AEE) is a web-based resource for Wisconsin’s farmers with a goal of reducing the waste of serviceable equipment and make it available for others who can use it. Using this exchange program website, equipment can be listed by the owner, for sale at a reasonable cost or free, whether it can be delivered, where to pick it up, and contact information.
Our FARM specialists often have contact with farmers who need access to reasonably priced used equipment. There are farmers who don’t qualify for our funding source, but are helped in other ways by our specialists through the AgrAbility of Wisconsin (AAW). When this equipment is donated to ESW and listed on the AEE site, ESW is able to offer this available equipment to these farmers.
But the AEE is really for anyone in need. The website is open to the public, and to utilize it, you just need to log in, and either request a piece of equipment that ESW has available, or make contact with anyone offering the equipment yourself.
If you have a piece of equipment you would like to submit, please fill out our online submission form or contact Monette Bebow-Reinhard at 608-237-1446 and she will be able to assist you further. Available equipment can be viewed in our online directory.
